Slipknot singer reports West Des Moines theft

---- — WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The lead singer of the heavy metal band Slipknot has reported the theft of $36,000 in musical equipment to West Des Moines police.

The Des Moines Register says ( ) Corey Taylor told police that the theft included two guitars once owned by Slipknot bassist Paul Gray, who died in May 2010.

Taylor reported that he suspected a friend stole the gear when Taylor and his wife were touring in Europe. They returned home late Saturday.

Some of the equipment has been recovered from a guitar store.

No arrests have been reported.
