Man found hiding in Iowa City attic after standoff

IOWA CITY (AP) — A 21-year-old man has been arrested after a standoff in Iowa City.

Police say officers entered a house about 10:30 a.m. Sunday and found Torian Cleggette hiding in the attic. No injuries or shots have been reported.

Officers first responded to the area around 2:35 a.m. Sunday after a woman reported that a man with a handgun had driven by her and made threats. Police say the vehicle was soon spotted, but the driver fled the vehicle and ran into the house.

Police say officers entered the house after some negotiations and found Cleggette. He was arrested on a drug warrant.

Cleggette remained in jail on Monday. Online court records don't list the name of his attorney.
