DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa officials have added a live chat feature to a state website that helps people with gambling problems.
The state Department of Public Health says the 1-800-BETS-OFF website now has a chat icon that connects a visitor to a counselor. The chat service is available Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
The website launched in 2011, and more than 14,000 people visited it in 2012.
The department's Office of Problem Gambling says the chat feature will be another opportunity for Iowa residents to seek help.
