---- — DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The Iowa Senate Government Oversight Committee is scheduled to discuss problems at the Iowa Juvenile Home in Toledo.
The Des Moines Register says (http://dmreg.co/17NmQz6 ) the committee will meet next week and hear from several parties, including the head of Iowa's Department of Human Services and from the executive director of Disability Rights Iowa.
Disability Rights Iowa is a federally funded group that has been investigating treatment of children at the home, including allegations that some children are held for weeks or months in small isolation rooms.
Gov. Terry Branstad has said his administration is addressing the problems and his spokesman says the governor is "committed to changing the toxic culture at the Iowa Juvenile Home."
