ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) — An American man accused of killing his uncle, aunt and cousins in the Czech Republic was arrested after fleeing to the United States.
U.S. prosecutors are seeking to detain Kevin Dahlgren until he can be returned to face charges in the Czech Republic.
Citing the Czech police investigation, a complaint seeking Dahlgren's arrest filed Thursday in U.S. District Court for Eastern Virginia said Dahlgren killed his relatives at their home in Brno on Tuesday or Wednesday. The complaint says the victims had been stabbed in the head and neck, and it appears that Dahlgren tried to burn three of the four bodies in the basement of the home.
An FBI spokeswoman said FBI agents arrested Dahlgren on Thursday at Washington Dulles International Airport, about 26 miles (40 km) west of Washington.
