ORHC welcomes two new doctors

OTTUMWA — Ottumwa Regional Health Center welcomes Dr. Elizabeth Tigges, OB/GYN, and Dr. Plamen Todorow, Neurologist, to its medical community.

Todorow will be joining Ottumwa Regional on Monday and will be establishing Ottumwa Neurology, where he will care for adult patients 18 years of age and older. He comes to Ottumwa most recently from Brainerd, Minn., where he was an adult neurologist at BMC. He is board certified in neurology and neurophysiology

“We are excited to be bringing Dr. Todorow on board and be able to offer neurology services to the community,” said Phil Noel, CEO at ORHC. “The lack of this service in our community has required our patients to go out of town to receive care, and with the addition of Dr. Todorow to our medical community, we can help keep those patients close to home for treatment.”

Todorow’s office is located in the Haas Medical Plaza across from ORHC at 1013 Pennsylvania Ave. in suite E. Physician referrals can be made to his office by calling 641-684-3111.

Tigges has joined the Ottumwa OB/GYN Clinic and started seeing patients on Dec. 11. She comes to Ottumwa from the University of Tennessee, where she was an associate professor in obstetrics and gynecology for the Health Sciences Center. Tigges is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.

“Dr. Tigges is such a great addition to our group of OB/GYN providers. She has a great energy and has family in the area, so she is vested in our community,” said Noel. “We have a very comprehensive group of OB/GYN providers, and adding Dr. Tigges will allow the practice to continue to grow.”

Tigges’ office is located in at 1005 Pennsylvania Ave., in suite 204.

Appointments can be made with her by calling 641-682-8761.
