---- — EDDYVILLE — Cargill’s plant in Eddyville has been honored for its achievements in workplace safety.
The Corn Refiners Association (CRA) presented the award as part of its 2013 Safety Awards Program, which recognizes those corn wet milling facilities with outstanding safety records. Cargill’s facility was among the winners of the One Million Hour Award.
The One Million Hour Award acknowledges plants that operate for 1 million consecutive hours without a lost workday.
“Achieving this milestone and award is a team effort,” said plant manager Craig Ambrose. “Without the support and safety-focused leadership by all employees, we would not have the momentum to take working safely to another level. For Cargill employees, our safety culture and care for others carries over into the community, at home and work.”
The facility employs 500 people.
