Audit on MHP complete

OSKALOOSA — Gronewold, Bell, Kyhnn & Co. P.C. CPAs, have released an audit report on Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa.

According to Chris Nelson, audit partner, MHP’s revenues totaled $42,459,100 for fiscal year 2013, which ran from July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2013. This is an 8 percent increase from the prior year. The revenues included $39,414,300 in net patient revenue, $599,000 of other operating revenue, $1,914,000 from county taxes and $29,200 in interest on investments.

Expenses for the year totaled $41,074,900, an 8.9 percent increase from the prior year, and included $18,899,900 for other professional services, $9,558,100 for nursing services and $7,545,200 for fiscal and administrative services.

Nelson said the increase in revenues and expenses is primarily due to increases in inpatient and outpatient services provided. A copy of the audited report will soon be available for review in the office of the Auditor of State and the Hospital Administrator’s office.
