Green Gourmet receives Blue Zone designation

FAIRFIELD — Blue Zones Project Fairfield has announced that Green Gourmet has achieved Blue Zones RestaurantTM designation, joining The Gardens Seasonal Kitchen, Revelations and Yummy’s.

Fairfield is now more than 50 percent of the way toward its goal of seven designated restaurants.

Green Gourmet fulfilled Blue Zones Restaurant designation criteria as outlined in the restaurant pledge, such as offering healthy dishes on a regular basis that meet the Blue Zones Project criteria, offering half-size portions of top-selling entrees and making healthy sides the default options.

On Monday, representatives from the Blue Zones Project Fairfield team presented Green Gourmet with its official designation certificate.

“The Blue Zones Project team is pleased Green Gourmet is joining other fine Fairfield restaurants in achieving Blue Zones Restaurant designation” said Mayor Ed Malloy. “It’s equally exciting to have achieved over 50 percent of our restaurant designation goal.”
