More than just stuff

AGENCY — At Stuff N More on Main Street in Agency, they're solving their own clutter problem and helping the community all in one package.

Owners Pete and Donna Vice knew they needed to scale down the stuff in their home, and they knew many of their friends and family had the same issue. After the citywide garage sale in September, Donna says she and her sister made a plan.

"People need things, and they can't always afford them," she explained. "I feel like we can make available so they can afford it. And we needed something to do with all our extra stuff."

So four empty rooms in their building were completely remodeled and turned into a store. They spent the winter cleaning and organizing and preparing each room. New items are constantly coming in as well, making each trip an adventure.

If you need kitchen items, there's an entire room full. Clothes have been lovingly folded and organized in a space of their own. Another room holds craft supplies, books and music, while another is full of holiday decorations and home decor. Even the porch has lovely decorations for sale, as well as furniture and baby items.

And the shop is already being noticed, and not just by those in town. Donna says many people passing through, often from other states, have been in since they opened in May. In one recent afternoon, she was able to provide a child with new summer clothes, find new bakeware for another woman and help an out-of-town traveler look for a missing family heirloom.

It was just another day at Stuff N More.

Stuff N More 208 E. Main St., Agency 641-937-9093 Open Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
