Crop reporting deadline July 15

OTTUMWA — The deadline for crop producers to submit their annual acreage report is July 15.

These reports are required to meed Farm Service Agency (FSA) program eligibility requirements. Producers can schedule appointments for crop reporting by contacting the Wapello County FSA office at 641-684-6515.

Accurate and timely acreage reports for all crops and land uses are necessary to determine and maintain FSA program eligibility as well as to receive maximum benefits. Prevented and failed acreage, forage crops and those crops that are grazed also need to be reported. Many FSA programs are dependent on accurate reports and information. For some programs, it has become crucial that producers report the correct year of seeding establishment for their different forage crops.

For questions about FSA programs, including specific crop reporting deadlines and planting dates, producers should contact their county FSA office. More information on FSA programs can be found at www.fsa.usda.gov.
