Three new Blue Zones employers named

FAIRFIELD — Blue Zones Project Fairfield has announced three additional employers as Blue Zones Worksites.

Cambridge Investment Research, Hy-Vee Store #1180 and Jefferson County Health Center fulfilled Blue Zones Worksite designation criteria in the areas of leadership, purpose, habitat and physical environment, engagement and creation of social networks, policies and benefits and well-being solutions. Each company also engaged more than 25 percent of their employees in the Blue Zones Personal Pledge.

“The Blue Zones Project team is thrilled that Cambridge, Hy-Vee and Jefferson County Health Center have taken the initiative to become designated Blue Zones Worksites in Fairfield,” said Mayor Ed Malloy. “By completing the designation process, these employers have demonstrated their commitment to create a healthier work environment by supporting the well-being of their employees.”

Brought to Iowa through an innovative sponsorship by Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield, in collaboration with Healthways and Blue Zones, Blue Zones Project is a community-by-community well-being improvement initiative designed to make healthy choices easier through permanent changes to environment, policy and social networks.
