KEOSAUQUA — Van Buren County Hospital would like to announce the opening of its brand new mammography suite. The vision of the suite was to have a more spa-like atmosphere with innovative technology to better serve the needs of our patients.
The suite is now located in the hospital next to the radiology department. It provides not only a more personalized experience with its soothing music and accompanying waiting room, it allows patients the convenience of being able to have a mammogram Monday through Friday at Van Buren County Hospital.
They have also installed PACS (Picture Archiving Communication System), which is an electronic system for storing and displaying of digital images. This will allow providers to receive images of X-rays they have ordered almost immediately. It will also allow providers to views images on their own computers at the six outlying clinics.
The radiology department also provides general radiography and fluoroscopy, CAT scans, ultrasound (including Echo cardiology and Stress Echo), MRI, nuclear medicine and DEXA (bone density testing).
