Scheffler Ottumwa's first female chiropractor

OTTUMWA — Dr. Christa Scheffler, Ottumwa’s first female chiropractor, is now open and accepting patients. She is an independent doctor of chiropractic at Payne’s Chiropractic.

After graduating from Harlan Community High School in Harlan in 2008, Scheffler attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport. Upon graduation in June 2013, she relocated to Ottumwa with her fiancé.

Scheffler’s focus is to help her patients reduce and/or eliminate pain and to educate her patients about the body’s ability to heal itself when the nervous system is functioning properly. As the length of treatment is solely based upon each individual’s needs, Scheffler does not require a commitment to a lengthy set of adjustments. She will assess the patient’s occupation and offer techniques or exercises to reduce pain or prevent injuries. She is also able to offer advice on nutrition, stretches and exercises that can be performed to help relieve pain and help the body to heal. She is excited to meet and help people throughout Ottumwa and the surrounding communities.

For more information, call 641-814-5314 or stop in at 418 Church St. in Ottumwa.
