Anderson completes commercial lending program

OTTUMWA — Doug Anderson of South Ottumwa Savings Bank successfully completed the 2013 Iowa Bankers Association’s Introduction to Commercial Lending School.

The school is an intense three-day program sponsored by the Iowa Bankers Association. The purpose of the IBA Introduction to Commercial Lending School is to give students a basic understanding of the principles and concepts of commercial lending. The curriculum for the school involves an extensive case study as well as classroom lecture and problem loan exercises.

Anderson joined the bank as vice president of business development/commercial loan officer in April. He attended Black Hawk College in Moline, Ill., studying management and marketing. He also has a long career in retail store management. He is a member of the Ottumwa Rotary Club, the Ottumwa Leadership Academy as well as a board member of Southeast Iowa Bank Group.
