Venables named rising star attorney

OTTUMWA — Former Ottumwan David W. Venables has been recognized by his fellow Oregon attorneys as a rising star in consumer law.

Venables was the only attorney chosen in this category. Nominees must be under the age of 40 or who have been in practice for 10 years or less. He is associated with Slominski and Associates in Tigard, Ore.

He is a 2000 graduate of Ottumwa High School, a 2004 graduate from Simpson College and a 2007 graduate from the law school at Drake University. His parents are Ken and Marcia Venables of Ottumwa, and his wife is Johanna Weakley.
