OTTUMWA — One of Ottumwa's city employees has received a prestigious award for his work.
The William D. Hatfield Award is given by the Water Environment Federation and the Iowa Water Environment Association in recognition of “outstanding performance and professionalism” in operation of a wastewater treatment plant. This year, the groups honored Kam Reeves, an operations supervisor at the Ottumwa Water Pollution Control Facility.
Reeves has been with the facility for 18 years and holds a Grade 4 Wastewater Operations Certificate, the highest certification in Iowa. He was named the Outstanding Employee of the Year for Ottumwa in 2006.
