Centerville council looks at street paving

The Daily Iowegian

CENTERVILLE — The Centerville City Council for Monday night's meeting has two items on the agenda dealing with the upcoming street improvement project for East and West State streets and North 10th Street.

The first is to pass a resolution to set a date for a public hearing regarding authorization not to exceed $5 million in general obligation capital loan notes for the East and West State streets and North 10th Street paving project.

The second is Jim Milani, who wants to address the council about the East and West State streets and North 10th Street paving project and the use of general obligation bonds to pay for a large part of the project.

Other items on the agenda for Monday night's meeting includes the presentation by the Centerville mayor of the Jim Senior Memorial Citizen of the Month award for the month of January.

Look at rescheduling the budget workshop meeting to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23 at City Hall. Right now, the budget workshop meeting is scheduled to be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 at City Hall.

Look at approving two mayor reappointments: Richard Wakefield to the Park Board and Bette Howell to the Zoning Adjustment Board.

Look at an addendum to the agreement for professional engineering services rendered by Hall Engineering of Centerville for the street improvements project for 10th Street. The addendum includes a fee of $20,900 and includes additional work for Hall Engineering to "Provide traffic signal engineering services for design and construction administration for traffic signal installation at the intersection of Iowa Highway 2 and 10th Street."
