Dinner and Dessert Gala RSVP deadline near

OSKALOOSA — If you want to indulge your sweet tooth and help support Love INC you still have a few days to register for its inaugural Dinner and Dessert Gala set for Feb. 15.

Love In the Name of Christ of Mahaska County is a non-profit organization that receives support from the United Way, area churches and private donors.

“We work with the churches to bring them together to help people in need,” Love INC Director Debbie Howe said. Love INC also works with the United Way, she added.

“We’re doing a dessert auction as the fund-raiser.” Howe said. RSVPs are due Feb. 1 — Saturday. People may call (641) 676-3750 from Wednesday through Friday anytime from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., she added.

There will be a variety of desserts up for auction when the event begins with dinner at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Oskaloosa Christian School.

“A lot of people have heard about it,” Howe said. “(This notice) is a reminder to people that it’s coming up.”

Howe said the fund-raiser will support Love INC in its endeavors to help local people in need.

“Love INC represents the caring arm of many local churches and coordinates with many community agencies to help some of our Mahaska County neighbors with a variety of needs. In addition to some financial assistance for housing, utilities, transportation and other needs, Love INC redistributes donated furniture and appliances, and arranges for long-term mentoring relationships with church volunteers to facilitate significant growth and change,” Howe said in a written statement.

For more information, people may call Howe or Julie Talbert at (641) 676-3750 or stop by at the Love INC office at 500 High Ave. W., Oskaloosa.
