Area schools again dismissing early

OTTUMWA — As temperatures again reach into the upper 90s, a number of area schools are dismissing classes early.

The unusual late-summer heat wave is threatening to push temperatures into triple digits Tuesday and Wednesday. The heat will ease late in the week, but only back into the low 90s.

Here are the area schools dismissing early Tuesday:

Oskaloosa Christian 12 p.m.

Albia 1 p.m.

N. Mahaska 1 p.m.

Sigourney 1:30 p.m.

Tri-County 2 p.m.

Centerville will dismiss classes two hours early on Tuesday.
