Brandi Benedict writes, “Our Courier made a return trip to Disney World!.
She said the family made the trip in mid-May. “It was a bit rainy, but we made the best of it and spent lots of time touring the parks.”
Not only that, but the Ottumwa group plans to return to the Orlando, Fla., area next year.
Sounds like a great place for a vacation.

Visiting the famous San Diego Zoo were Mike Kopp, Terrie Morris, Tyler Kopp, Molly Davis, Keagan Kopp, Tonya Kopp and Troy Kopp.
How great — the Ottumwans wore their Rollin’ round O’Town RAGBRAI T-shirts in California!

Well, this Ottumwan took two weeks off but didn’t go anywhere. I thought about holding up a Courier in my back yard by my mulberry bush which I didn’t know I had.
Thanks to my “gardener,” Bryce, who does a great job of mowing, trimming and anything else I need done outside, I found out I had one.
When he finished mowing last week, he asked me about the mulberry bush. I told him I didn’t have one. Yes, you do, he said. I’ll show you.
And he did, and he was right. The mulberries are so sweet.
My question to you all is, what do I do with them? I scanned a few of my recipe books and couldn’t find any recipe with mulberries in them, except for some wine which I don’t want to make.
Can I make a blackberry pie using mulberries?
All I remember about mulberries is that there was a bush at my friends’ house when I was little and the berries fell on the tin roof of a shed which we used to slide down.
You know, I wondered why that “lilac” bush hadn’t been blooming!

And leave it to Jeff to remember my 43 years at the Courier.
I didn’t!
I have a lovely bouquet of white daisies and yellow mums on my desk. Love the vase — a little blue car.
The anniversary was June 20.
You know my saying, 43 down — 7 to go.
Like to keep everyone guessing!
