ETCETERA: Courier goes to the circus; tomatoes get weird

BY JUDY KRIEGER, COURIER EDITOR

The Courier has been to the east coast, out west and throughout the Midwest recently as readers have provided us with their travel photos.

And, even though the summer has been cool lately, there have been some weird things growing in gardens. Our thoughtful gardeners have either brought in their entries for our Weird Veggies contest or sent photos.

Enjoy this week’s Courier travels and the odd veggies.

Paula Thudium, Paula Paulos, Linette Paulos, Douglas Boyd and Steve Paulos vacationed in Walker, Minn., on Leech Lake and took the Courier with them. Thank you!

Steven and Amanda Bacon took the Ottumwa Courier to Saratoga Hot Springs and Spa in Saratoga, Wyo. They were on their way to Steven’s 24th annual ride to the famous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, S.D.

I wonder if it’s the first time the Courier has been to the rally?
