ETCETERA: Seattle hikers leave Courier on a mountain top

By JUDY KRIEGER, Courier Editor

Jarrod Stocker, Ben Butler and Josh Riedel hold the Ottumwa Courier on top of Three Fingers Mountain in Seattle, Wash., recently. The three guys made the trek to the top on Sept. 21. They slept in the lookout tower and hiked back down on the following day.

Jarrod, son of Tony Stocker, “said it was an awesome adventure. By the way, they left the Courier there for the next hikers to enjoy.”

Well, thanks, guys — that was a nice thing to do.

Branson bound were a group from the Richland Methodist Church. They enjoyed three days in Southern Missouri including a ride on the Showboat Branson Belle on Lake Taneycomo.

Been there and done that. It’s beautiful! Thanks for taking the Courier along.

Michael Wailes and his grandmother, Lois Knott, both of Ottumwa, enjoyed a visit to Seattle, Wash., to visit Michael’s twin cousins who were celebrating their first birthday. One stop on the trip was the popular Public Market in downtown Seattle.
