BLOOMFIELD — The City of Bloomfield will receive a $500,000 grant and a $1.5 million loan to finance a connection fee for emergency connection to the Rathbun Regional Water Association. The financing comes from the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development.
The grant awarded to the city of Bloomfield is through the Emergency Community Water Assistance Grant program.
These grants assist rural communities that have experienced, or about to experience, a significant decline in quantity or quality of drinking water due to an emergency to help them obtain or maintain adequate quantities of safe drinking water.
Together, the grant and loan awarded to the city of Bloomfield will cover the total cost of the project.
