Cannon Ball Balloon Road Rally Saturday

Ottumwa Courier

---- — Cannon Ball Balloon Road Rally Saturday

OTTUMWA — Get your teams together in a car, van, RV or bus and head out to The Beach Ottumwa on Saturday for the start of the inaugural Cannon Ball Balloon Road Rally.

This event is similar to the the Service League’s Caravan Crusade from years past. This is NOT a race, however. It is a friendly competition.

All teams will start at The Beach Ottumwa and travel to 10 volunteer-staffed stops and complete a task. After completion of the task, the team will receive their next clue. Each team will be required to show proof of each of the 10 locations at the final destination, which is Courtside Bar and Grill, 2511 N. Court St., in Ottumwa.

Entry fee the day of the event is $30 per person to participate in the rally, enjoy food at Courtside, have a chance for prizes and participate in an evening of fun with celebrity bartenders and 50/50 drawings.

Those who do not want to go on the road rally but want to enjoy the food and after party at Courtside can attend after 7 p.m. and mention “Balloons” at the door. Cost is $10 per person.

The road rally is a fundraiser for the Ottumwa Pro Balloon Races.

Sign in the day of the rally at The Beach Ottumwa starting at 4 p.m. with a launch time of 5:30 p.m. Participants should have a team name and captain for registration. This is a rain or shine event, so dress accordingly.
