---- — Outdoor service at St. Paul

OTTUMWA — Sounds of praise and worship will be heard outdoors at 10:30 a.m. Sunday when several churches in the community gather for a community outdoor worship service.

Some of the churches involved will include Plymouth Congregational, Trinity Episcopal, Munterville Lutheran, St. Paul Lutheran and the Church of the Brethren. The worship will be held on the lawn of St. Paul Church, 1524 N. Court St., across from Horace Mann Elementary School. All people in the neighborhood and community are welcome to join in this very casual outdoor worship focusing on the freedom we share in Jesus Christ and the gifts of the Spirit. Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and sit under the large maple tree providing plenty of shade for everyone.

Following the worship, there will be a free pulled pork lunch served, and people can give a freewill monetary donation to help cover the cost of the meal. In case of inclement weather, high humidity or rain, the worship and picnic lunch will be moved inside St. Paul Church.

Lightning and Thunder Ministry service

FAIRFIELD — Lightning and Thunder Ministry, an interdenominational ministry founded by Richard and Rose Kessler, is hosting a “prophetic gathering” event every Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Fairfield Best Western conference room.

The gathering will feature praise, testimony, prayer and teaching with the flavor of a roundtable coffee house.
