Students’ art exhibit on display
OTTUMWA — MidWestOne Bank will host its Third annual Kids’ Art Exhibit from 6-7:30 p.m. today at the bank, 116 W. Main St. The exhibit is open to the public.
This year, more than 300 students from Ottumwa elementary schools submitted artwork. Twenty-five student art pieces were selected to be featured in the 2014 MidWestOne Bank Kids’ Art Calendar.
Students selected include Tristan Lemeuse, Agassiz; Makayla Brown, Sophia Hopkins, Ellie Barnes, Ashlynn Sheets and Calvin Neely, Eisenhower; Graciela Mendoza, Gavyn Hewitt, Jilienne Butler and Amber Cron, Horace Mann; Esther Peralta, Yulien Nunez, Jenna Lowe and Melanie Alvarado, James; Caitlyn Reber and Klaire Hatfield, Pickwick; Hannah Talbert, Julieta Lopez, Hannah Nguyen and North Lindell, Wildwood; and Jorge Ambriz-Andrade, Daisy Masaki, Dalila Amaro, Skyeler Benedict and Inez Sanchez, Wilson.

Archery shoot, permit to carry class scheduled
OTTUMWA — The Ottumwa Izaak Walton league will hold its first archery shoot of the season this weekend from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.
There are classes for everyone. This is a wooded, hunter-friendly course that offers some challenges.
Meanwhile, the league will be hosting a permit to carry class at 8 a.m. April 27. This is the required class to obtain a permit to carry, and the cost is $30 per person. Participants will need a photo ID and will need to be there a little early to register. Pre-registration is not required.

Ottumwa to be featured on ‘Today Show’ today
OTTUMWA — The city of Ottumwa will be featured on the “Today Show” today.
Ottumwans can tune in to NBC between 8 and 9 a.m. today to see the city featured in a segment on diversity by Today Show news anchor and co-host Natalie Morales. The segment will not be repeated.
