OTTUMWA — Discussing a bond sale and timeline tops the agenda for the Wapello County Supervisors when they meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the county courthouse.

Wapello County Supervisor Steve Siegel said Friday that Tim Oswald of Piper Jaffray will discuss the bond sale and timeline with the supervisors during the meeting.

Also, Oswald will talk with the board about considering bonding to pave some roads and do overlays on others.

“Oswald and Piper Jaffray will help us with the details of timing the annual payment and interest rates,” Siegel said.

The bonding firm also helped Wapello County with completing Rock Bluff Road, and the I-JOBS funding helped with the Chillicothe Bridge.

About a year ago the city applied for a federal grant to assist in resurfacing Iowa Avenue near the Cargill Meat Solutions plant. Wapello County didn’t get the grant so they applied for a Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy (RISE) grant through the Iowa Department of Transportation.

Other items on the board’s agenda include:

— The second reading of the Wapello County Ordinance, Title I, Chapter 5, Local Option Sales and Services Tax.

— A resolution to authorize county officers to destroy records more than 10 years old.
