OTTUMWA — This weekend's Pink Ball is an annual event that raises money for CASA, which stands for court appointed special advocates.

The advocates represent children particularly in cases of child abuse. It's definitely a need. Wapello County ranks near the top of the state for child abuse cases. It takes 30 hours of training for volunteers who want to become advocates.
