---- — OTTUMWA — The Wapello County Supervisors on Monday approved renewing the county’s contract with Southeast Iowa Case Management.
Supervisor Jerry Parker said the action is related to making mental health affordable.
“It’s ObamaCare,” he said.
Managers Teresa Roberts and Marcy Murphy attended the meeting and presented their information to the supervisors.
Supervisor Steve Siegel said case management clients were getting mental health and that it was “affordable.”
“They will get integrated health at home through Medicaid, and the chronically ill will also receive Medicaid,” he said.
Wapello County started working with Case Management in 1995.
“Nothing has changed from the previous contract,” Siegel added.
In other business, the board approved a resolution to cancel outstanding checks issued in the previous fiscal year, and the Iowa retail cigarette/tobacco permit for Rocket Fuels & Food Mart was renewed for July 1 through June 30, 2014.
