OTTUMWA — Bike rides in Wapello County just received a personal push of goodwill from Wapello County Board of Supervisors.
Tuesday, supervisors signed a resolution of support for three area bike rides to be conducted in June. The rides include the Heartland Humane Society on June 7, American Gothic on June 15 and the Historic Hills on June 21.
“There’s plenty of opportunity to ride a bike for a good cause in the next several weeks,” said Supervisor Steve Siegel in support of the resolution.
In other business, the board:
• Acknowledged the hiring of part-time home care aide Andrea Douglas with Wapello County Public Health. She will be paid $9.50 an hour.
• Approved a cigarette/tobacco permit for Elliott Oil Company for Highway 63 South BP from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015.
• Approved a cigarette/tobacco permit for Rocket Fuels and Food Mart from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015.
