---- — OTTUMWA — Wapello County Supervisor Greg Kenning said a contract with Department of Human Services (DHS) will probably be the main event when the board meets at 5:30 p.m. today in the Wapello County Courthouse.

He indicated the DHS contract will provide technical assistance to develop the mental health and disability regional system. The supervisors most likely will approve $2,500 for technical assistance to develop the mental health and disability regional system.

In other business, Kenning said the board has a letter of support for the 2015 Iowa Tourism Conference. Mark Eckman of the Ottumwa Convention Bureau said local leaders are "throwing their hats in the ring" for Ottumwa's selection as one of the sites for the Iowa Tourism Conference 2015, Kenning noted.

Kenning said Eckman had indicated Ottumwa's selection as a tourism site hadn't been confirmed yet. Officials from the Iowa Tourism Council Office will be in Ottumwa Wednesday to evaluate the city as a tourism site.
