Some Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont kids have embraced the holiday season by seeing how much fun it can be to give.
During the month of December the Blakesburg attendance center held a food drive to collect food for the shelves of one of the area’s food pantries.
Students at the school brought in over 800 food and personal hygiene items. The teachers also raised $70 by paying to wear jeans for a week, and another donated two turkeys. To round out the contribution, Hy-Vee donated a fresh batch of bananas.
The students and teachers gathered at the school to present the food and money to representatives from the food pantry.
