KEOSAUQUA — The Van Buren Community School Board taken a step forward in its building project.
During a special meeting May 5, the board discussed various options for building improvements with its architect and construction manager. The school board recently contracted with BLDD architects and Estes Construction manager.
The board voted 4-0 to direct BLDD and Estes to proceed with development of plans considering facility improvements.
According to School Board President Stan Whitten, the board is considering several options, including renovation, heating and air conditioning, additions and other items. The motion states: “ to direct BLDD and Estes to proceed with their development plans considering facility improvements that include moving fifth and sixth grades to Keosauqua as well as other remodel projects.”
The board will then determine the next steps based on the information they receive.
