EBF school board positions up for election

EDDYVILLE – Four positions on the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont school board will be up for re-election this fall. Community members interested in running for a seat on the board should request nomination papers at the district office in Eddyville.

Director districts up for election are District 1, District 2, District 6 and District 7. Those positions are currently being served by Dan Hulbert, Mike Mayberry, Jeff Claypool and David Friedman.

The first day to file nomination papers with the board secretary is July 8. A minimum of 10 eligible elector signatures within the school district and director district are required. All papers must be filed by 5 p.m. on Aug. 1.

The board secretary will deliver nomination papers to the county auditor on Aug. 2. Aug. 6 is the last day candidates may withdraw and the last day written objections to nomination papers or eligibility of candidate may be filed.

The school board election will be held on Sept. 10.
