OHS JROTC cadets recognized

OTTUMWA — The Ottumwa High School JROTC Bulldog Battalion held its 17th annual awards ceremony recently.

The annual ceremony is held to recognize JROTC cadets and their accomplishments during the school year. This year, 16 national organizations presented awards to 33 cadets, and local awards were presented to 40 cadets. JROTC instructors are John Wynn and Rick Reinier.

Cadets and the awards they received are as follows:

• Cadet Challenge Physical Fitness Awards Female: Miranda Readdy - 5th place; Lois Ivey – 4th place; Ilma Alfaro – 3rd place; Alayna Hubbard – 2nd place; Monica Aparicio – 1st place

• Cadet Challenge Physical Fitness Awards Male: Riley Wynn – 5th place; Thomas Meeker – 4th place; Christian Garrett – 3rd place; Colton Shoop -2nd place; Jesse Olson – 1st place
