Van Buren Players plan 'Quilters'



KEOSAUQUA — Van Buren County Players are “deep into the stitches” as they rehearse for the February performance of “Quilters,” a musical about the struggles of pioneer women of the Western movement.

Performances will be 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27-28 and 2 p.m., March 1 at the Roberts Memorial Center, off U.S. Highway 1, north Keosauqua. Advance tickets go on sale after Feb. 1 at the Keosauqua office and Community First Bank. For tickets or more information, call (319) 293-3794. Tickets will also be available at the door. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for kids (18 and under). Seniors can purchase matinee tickets for $6.

“Quilters” is an ensemble musical which does not follow a linear plot. The show moves from story to story with different characters in each scene.

Cast members include: Sonia Stookesberry, Linda Mitcheltree, Vicki Robertson, Jennifer Hoskin, Heather Charbonneau, Erin Shriver, Alisha Poing, Stefany Wells, Kylie Kite, Chalet Gomez, Gloria Breckenridge, Nanette Rambo, Barbara Morris, John Stookesberry, Jake Poling and Mike Plecker.

Ronda Watson is director with assistance from David Paulek and Kathleen Paulek. Sonia Stookesberry and Marcie Atwood, music directors, Stefany Wells, choreography, Carol Harlan, costumes, Marcie Atwood, music, keyboard Julie Garrells, bass, Jack Barron, guitar, Jim Settles, banjo, Sam Carruthers, violin and mandolin.
