Broadway music on stage May 4 in free IHCC concert



OTTUMWA — Broadway melodies will be singing out at 3 p.m., May 4 from Indian Hills Community College’s St. John Auditorium . The Indian Hills Concert Choir, the Camerata Singers, and Bridge City Explosion Show Choir will present a variety of selections from old and current musicals during the concert. The free performance is open to the public.

Some of the shows represented are “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” “Kiss Me,” “Kate,” “Wicked,” “State Fair,” “Les Misérables,” “Bye Bye, Birdie!,” “Miss Saigon,” “The Phantom of the Opera” and “Peter Pan.”

Michael Philipsen directs the Concert Choir and the Camerata Singers. Debra Merrill directs Bridge City Explosion.

Students involved in the concert are: Silas Dawkins, Ackley; Jennifer Bennett and Zeth Gruwell, Agency; Michael Terrell, Albia; Matt Rebol and Joseph Ratcliff, Chariton; Chris Wilson, Columbus Junction; Matt Martz and Kayla Townsend, Des Moines; Kendra Bogert and Laura Deaton, Drakesville; Ashley Kent, Eldon, Dane Francis, Eddyville; Rebecca Bartle, Matt Fiedler, Rachel Gevock and Kaelynne Nevins , Fairfield; Kayleen Collopy, Gering, Neb.; Heather Binkley, Moravia; Jess Henderson, Mount Pleasant; Adam Sawyer, Natalie Berto, Rachael Ehrenhard, Carlin Mitchell and Madalyne Rutledge, Ollie; Chelsea Bryant, Parnell, Thomas Ready, Pella; Andraya Stender, Pleasantville; Hannah Gammack, Marc Gammack and Miranda Rains, Sigourney.
