Pets a highlight for Fairfield's 1st Fridays Art Walk Aug. 1



FAIRFIELD — Fairfield 1st Fridays Art Walk celebrates Imagine Community featuring Bark in the Park with our four legged friends from 6-10:30 p.m. Aug. 1 on the Fairfield Square. Imagine Community celebrates Fairfield’s non-profit organizations and volunteers instrumental in Fairfield’s 2006 Great Places designation.

Both local and visiting artists will be exhibiting and demonstrating a variety of art forms, including animal art and silk dying, jewelry and pottery. The Bark in the Park festivities includes a pet parade, pet costume competition, pet photos, pet blessings, pet communicator –psychic, and a visit from the Fairfield Police Department’s canine. Noah’s Ark and Heavenly Pet Sanctuary will be on the square with pets available for adoption.

Children’s activities include the giant canvas, bubbles and sidewalk chalk art. The Fairfield Girl Scouts will offer face painting. The Fairfield Lions Club, along with Chef Mike Kincaid, will demonstrate watermelon sculptures and have watermelon available.
