Fishwick art exhibition at Indian Hills gallery
Reception Sept. 8

OTTUMWA --- Oskaloosa artist Misao Fishwick will present a one-artist exhibition in the Indian Hills Community College Art Gallery this fall. Fishwickís exhibit, titled "Artworks: Then and Now," will open with a reception from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday. There will be refreshments available and the artist will be present to answer questions. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Misao Fishwick, born in Japan, received his art training at both the Tokyo Design Gakuin (Art School) in Japan and the American Academy of Art in Chicago. While he works in several different media, he is most noted for the delicate and poetic drawings in colored pencil. His works appear to be light and subtle, yet they are amazingly powerful. Along with many of his most recent artworks, Misao will be exhibiting several of his earlier pieces as well.

The artist has exhibited his work in Japan, the Northeast (mostly in New Jersey), and here in Iowa. His art can be found in many notable collections in Japan and the United States.

“Artworks: Then and Now” will be on view until Thursday, November 6. The Indian Hills Community College Art Gallery is located in the IHCC Ottumwa campus library at 525 Grandview. The gallery is open from 8 a.m.to 8:40 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
