Ottumwa Symphony opens season with ‘All Waltz Evening’

OTTUMWA — Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra members, directed by Tony Chang, will bring to life some of the world’s most delightful music Saturday night.

Audience members will be wanting to dance in the aisles as the symphony features music composed by the “Waltz King” Johann Strauss II.

It is the opening concert in the orchestra’s 2009-10 program series. This is the orchestra’s 23rd season.

The “All Waltz Evening” concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Indian Hills St. John Auditorium. Season passes are $50 for family, and $30 for single and will be available at the door, as will single admission tickets. Students are admitted free.

The concert will be preceded by the traditional pre-concert dinner — a Viennese dinner — in the Indian Hills Community College Dining Hall.
