IHCC choral concert Nov. 8



OTTUMWA — Selections from the Renaissance to the 21st Century will highlight Indian Hills Community College’s annual Fall Vocal Concert on Sunday, Nov. 8.

The Indian Hills Concert Choir, Camerata Singers and the Bridge City Explosion will perform in the free 3 p.m. concert in St. John Auditorium.

Michael Philipsen will direct the Concert Choir and the Camerata Singers.

The Concert Choir will sing works by Rutter, MacGillivray, Randall Thompson, Dowland, a new setting of “Sanctus” by Philipsen and others. They will be accompanied by oboist Joe Vannatta in one of the selections.

The Camerata Singers will perform English, Spanish, Italian and French selections from the Renaissance, as well as two 20th century pieces.

The Bridge City Explosion, directed by Diana Upton-Hill, will feature popular favorites from past decades.
