Holiday Nights ’N Lights glowing in Ottumwa Park



OTTUMWA — Mary Frisbie made some last minute replacements on the large butterfly's bulbs, one of a dozen or so new displays for the 2009 Holiday Nights 'N Lights.

The big light display in Ottumwa Park opens to traffic at 6 p.m. Saturday. Hours for driving through the display are 6-8:30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 6-9:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday. it runs through Jan. 1, 2010. Advance admission tickets are $8 at North and South Hy-Vee food stores, Hy-Vee Drug Store and the Ottumwa Area Chamber of Commerce. Tickets at the gate are $10. Season passes are $40, available at the chamber.

Tonight is the walk-through to benefit the Wapello County trails system. It is the only time walking through the lighted display is permitted.
