Rat Pack tribute concert to be a totally retro night

OTTUMWA — Join in a timeless evening of music and entertainment with The Rat Pack Tribute at 7:30 p.m. March 23 at the Bridge View Center.

Mark Verabian, Kenny Jones and Sebastian Anzaldo bring the true essence of Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Frank Sinatra to the stage.

“It’s a trip back in time to when these guys performed together,” Jones said. “We’re bringing you Las Vegas in the 1960s.”

All three entertainers started as musicians before their paths brought them to The Rat Pack Tribute, and they will be performing with area musicians. Verabian regularly performs in Las Vegas with his band, “The Martinis.” Jones has traveled extensively, performing in casinos, theaters and other venues worldwide. And in 2007, Anzaldo was seen on the ABC TV show, “The Next Big Thing.”

“People will leave with a good feeling, a bag full of memories,” Verabian said. “We’re told all the time that (the show) brought back a lot of memories. They’ve had experiences with them, some met them and have good memories.”

To make the evening more special, Bridge View Center will be redesigned just like Vegas in the ‘60s. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their finest suit and evening wear, walk the red carpet, sign a few autographs and pose for the paparazzi. A martini bar will be set up, cigarette and show girls will be on hand and blackjack and craps tables will be open for a little fun. All of the red carpet events will begin at 6 p.m.

“It’s like these guys are here for a special reunion, one night only,” Bridge View Director Larry Gawronski said.

Reserved seats for the show are $32, $30 for seniors (65 and older) and $29 for groups of 10 or more. Tickets are available at the Bridge View Center Box Office, online at ticketmaster.com or charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
