‘Thank God It’s Spring Party’ April 6

OTTUMWA — On April 6, District 14 of ABATE of Iowa will hold its 28th annual “Thank God It’s Spring Party” at the Bridge View Center in Ottumwa.

ABATE of Iowa District 14 is a motorcycle rights organization made up of 720 politically active bikers in eight southeast Iowa counties: Davis, Henry, Jefferson, Keokuk, Mahaska, Van Buren, Washington and Wapello.

Over the last 27 years, ABATE District 14 has hosted one of the largest indoor biker parties in the state, featuring some of the best biker-oriented entertainment in the country. They have featured top Iowa bands as well as regional bands from California, Florida, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and South Carolina.

This year’s bands are both District 14 favorites from the southeast Iowa and northern Missouri area: Fatal Addiction and RikeR.

Admission is $15 at the door. Participants must be 21 and have picture ID to attend. The doors open at 5 p.m. with RikeR taking the stage from 5:30-8:30 p.m. and Fatal Addiction following from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m.

Food and drink (full bar) will be available through Bridge View. There will be door prizes and contests throughout the evening. Merchandise vendors, including a tattooist and leather sewing, will be present. Free overnight camper and motorhome parking is available in Bridge View’s large parking lot.

All ABATE events are open to the public.
