Fremont Theatre presents ‘Headin’ for a Weddin’

Organization reprises group’s first production for 30th anniversary

FREMONT — The Fremont Lions Community Theatre presents “Headin’ for a Weddin’” at 7 p.m. Feb. 7-9 and 2 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Fremont School.

This is the 30th anniversary for the organization’s theatrical performances, and “Headin’ for a Weddin’” was the first production the group performed.

The play centers around the Hollowbones, a family of no great means who live in a three-room cabin somehwere in thar hills near Cricket Creek.

There’s also the Widder Blairhouse, her kids, three women from the city who get stranded because of a blizzard and much more.

Cast members include: Aaron Rouw, Martha Scharff, Mark Hansen, Missy Parmentier, Sandy Eckley, Margie Holliman, Ethan Goetz, April Elder, Terry Pettyjohn, Marla Witt, Dollie Horn, Jon Herr, Janice West, Sharon Van Ringelestein, Jeanene Calhoun, Don Zook, Bill Ward and Michelle Rupprecht. Scott Bethane and Mindy Archer are the co-directors.

Mark Hansen, Marla Witt, Margie Holliman and Bill Ward have been involved with the Fremont plays for all 30 years. Hansen, Witt and Terry Pettyjohn, in fact, are playing the roles they did 30 years ago. Ward and the late Lynn Ryon directed the play 30 years ago.

For the Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances, soup and sandiwches will be served by the Fremont Little League prior to the show from 5-7 p.m. Lefty’s BBQ and Caatering will serve a Sunday meal from 12-2 p.m. Sunday prior to the show.
