The Hunts bring indie-folk sound

Ottumwa Courier

FAIRFIELD — The Hunts bring an indie-folk sound, thunderous step dancing and high powered bluegrass fiddling to the Sondheim Center at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 23.

From Chesapeake, Va., these seven brothers and sisters are driven by a passion for creating compelling music and bring an amazing chemistry and powerful presence to the stage.

The award-winning Hunts perform Celtic, bluegrass, inspirational, country and light rock, plus a diverse repertoire of original compositions. Champion fiddling is mixed with a percussive blend of world-ranked step dancing, drums, djembes, ashikos and cajons. Acoustic and electric guitars accompany soaring piano melodies and beautiful vocal harmonies.

The Hunts are part of the 2012-13 Sondheim Artist Series. Tickets are $27 for Zone 1, $23 for Zone 2, $19 for Zone 3 and available at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center Ticket Office, by phone, 641-472-2787 and online,
