FAIRFIELD — Aarrrrgh! Really, who doesn’t want to be a pirate?

The national touring production of “How I Became a Pirate” brings Melinda Long’s swashbuckling treasure hunt to life at the Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts at 7 p.m. Feb. 12.

With its unique blend of spellbinding storytelling, irresistible pirate songs and bold choreography, this production will take audiences of all ages on an unforgettable “journey through the high seas.”

“One of the things that pirates represent for kids is a life free from care, a life of giddy abandon, where you can do whatever you want,” says the show’s director Rob Urbinati.

“How I Became a Pirate” is part of the 2012-13 Sondheim Artist Series. Youth tickets are $12 and adult tickets range from $15 to $22 tand are available at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center Ticket Office, 641-472-2787 and www.FairfieldACC.com.
