Retiring teachers honored at reception

OTTUMWA — The Ottumwa Community School District honored this year’s retirees at an open house May 6 in the Ottumwa High School Library. The public was invited to attend.
The 2009 retirees are:
Cecilia Barron, third grade teacher at Wildwood;
Patricia Bowles, second grade teacher at Pickwick;
Karen Brandt, preschool teacher at Pickwick;
Sally Dow, teacher associate at Wilson;
Connie Harness, language arts teacher at OHS;
Elizabeth Inderski, business teacher at OHS;
Vicki Lynn Mietzner, language arts teacher at OHS;
Jane Nestor, elementary secretary at James;
Barbara Nasby, elementary instrumental music teacher;
Kenneth Ross (retiring January 2010) custodian at OHS;
Paulette Speer, first grade teacher at Agassiz;
Daryl Stangl, special education teacher at Pickwick;
Jean Swezy-Feeler, special education teacher at OHS;
Roger Thomas, science teacher at Evans;
Janet Vinyard, elementary gifted and talented teacher.
