Women’s Club hosts Headin’ Home Quartet
OTTUMWA — The Headin’ Home Quartet will be the center of attention after lunch at the Ottumwa Women’s Club meeting Tuesday at Hotel Ottumwa.
The male quartet is from Colfax. The members sattended the First Baptist Church of Colfax and got together to learn the four-part southern gospel harmony.
Word got around about their sound, and since 2001 the group has traveled throughout most of Iowa and surrounding states.
In 2008, they gave 60 concerts and as of May 2009 they had already performed 40 times.
As Davie Ann Hutton and Myrna Peterson, program co-chairs, noted, the men “are busy with full-time jobs and families” but still have recently cut their fourth recording.
Ottumwa Women’s Club is open to all Ottumwa area women and meets the second Tuesday of the month from September through May, except for January.
Reservations are required for attendance and should be made before the Friday preceding the Tuesday meeting.
